Hints of fall are finally starting to make themselves present with cooler nights and leaves finally starting to change colors. Now that summer vacation season is over the lakes have quieted down. You can have the whole lake to yourself right now.
Walleye fishing has been pretty good still, with plenty of eater sized be caught on Crawler harnesses. Crappie are still being found suspended 12-14 ft of water, just tossing out a minnow on a slip bobber of a small jig has been working well.
Most of the fishing action has not been on the lakes but on the rivers. On the Manistee river has been producing plenty of big fish. Tippy Dam has been packed with fish and fisherman. At the Dam most are using Flies, beads or spawn. Down river they are also getting them on crankbaits like Thundersticks.
