This has really been the first weekend with any population of Ice fisherman on Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell. Theres about 3-5″ of ice covering most of the lakes but some places along the shoreline might have a couple. It’s still early and most of the lakes have not been explored so make sure you’re checking the ice as you go with your ice spud.
The panfish have been a little hit and miss, so far the most consistent report was mixed Gills and Crappie outside of the coves on Lake Mitchell.
We have heard of some good Walleye reports during the evenings. Mainly using tip-ups with shiners, but some are getting them with Jigging Rapala’s as well.
We’ve got colder days coming for the entire next week so we should be makeing ice everyday as long as we don’t get too much snow on top.
